Public notice is hereby given that Salina City will be electing a Mayor and 2 four-year Council Members.  The candidates for Mayor are listed alphabetically by surname as follows: Matt Murphree, Tom Summarell and David K. Willden. The candidates for Council Members are listed alphabetically by surname as follows: Edward Calton, Bryan Paul Knight, Becky Lopshire and Jed Maxwell.

Salina City's primary election will be held August 13, 2013.  The Mayoral candidates will be limited to 2.  

Salina City's general election will be held November 5, 2013.

FOR SALINA CITY

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Salina City Council will be holding a public hearing on June 19, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Salina City Hall located at 90 West Main, Salina, Utah. The purpose of the hearing is comments on the 2013-2014 budget and certified tax rate for Salina City, and compensation of statutory officers of Salina City for 2013-2014.  A copy of the proposed budget, certified tax rate, and compensation ordinance is available for public inspection at the Salina City Hall.
The 2012-2013 budget may also be opened and amended by resolution to increase the General Fund and Enterprise Funds expenditure and revenue budgets by department and line item. Capital projects and debt service budgets may also be adopted or amended.

In accordance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing special assistance to attend or understand this meeting may have reasonable accommodations made for them by calling Sherri Westbrook at (435) 529-7304 at least two (2) days prior to the meeting.

Notice is hereby given that the Aurora City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Aurora City Council Chambers, located at 20 South 120 East, Aurora, Utah. Shall the Board of Education of Sevier County School District, Sevier County, Utah, be authorized to levy annually for the purpose of maintaining a state-supported voted local levy a special tax at the rate of an additional .0006 per dollar of the taxable value of the taxable property within the District, in addition to all other taxes levied or imposed on such property within the District?
To vote in favor of the above proposition, mark the box to the left of the words "FOR THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT VOTED LOCAL LEVY TAX." The special elections will be administered entirely by absentee ballot.  The election officer will mail to each registered voter within the District an absentee ballot and a postage paid business reply envelope.  There will be no polling places in the District for the elections.  If a voter fails to follow the instructions included with the absentee ballot, the voter will be unable to vote in the elections.  Voters are not required to apply for an absentee ballot for the elections.
On May 28 an official absentee ballot will be mailed, postage paid, to all voters in the District who have registered to vote before the day on which the ballots are mailed.  For a voter that registers to vote after the absentee ballots have been mailed, the County Clerk will either give the voter an absentee ballot and envelope to vote in the County Clerk\'s office or mail an absentee ballot, postage paid, to the voter.
To vote the mail-in absentee ballot, a voter will need to: (i) complete and sign the affidavit on the envelope; (ii) mark the votes on the absentee ballot; (iii) place the voted absentee ballot in the envelope; (iv) securely seal the envelope; and (v) deposit the self-addressed, prepaid envelope in the mail or deliver it in person to the County Clerk.
There is to be no special registration of voters for the special elections, and the official register of voters last made or revised shall constitute the register for the special elections.  The County Clerk will make registration lists or copies of such lists available for use by registered voters.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on June 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., in the County Clerk\'s Office at 250 N. Main St., in Richfield, Utah, there will be conducted (a) a demonstration of the logic and accuracy testing of the voting devices to be used in the special elections and (b) a test of the automatic tabulating equipment or other apparatus to be used to tabulate the results of the June 25, 2013 special elections.  These tests are open to public observation.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on July 9, 2013, that being a day no sooner than 7 days and not later than 14 days after the special elections, the Board of Education of the District (the "Board") will meet at its regular meeting place, 180 East 600 North, Richfield, Utah, and will canvass the returns and declare the results of the special elections during the Board meeting that begins at 3:00 p.m.
Pursuant to applicable provisions of Sections 11-14-208 and 20A-4-403 of the Utah Code, the period allowed for any contest of the special elections shall end 40 days after July 9, 2013 (the date on which the results of the election are to be canvassed and the results thereof declared).  No such contest shall be maintained unless a complaint is filed with the Clerk of the Second Judicial District Court in and for Sevier County, within the prescribed 40-day period.
