Notice is hereby given that Ballard City will hold a public hearing to discuss submitting an application to the Permanent Community Impact Board for funding the Union Street Improvements. Union Street from US Highway 40 to 400 North in Roosevelt lies along the border of Duchesne and Uintah County, with the actual roadway in Ballard City and Uintah County. This street serves residents and businesses from Roosevelt City on the West and Ballard City on the East. It also serves as a route for pedestrian and vehicle traffic from East Elementary School and Union High School. This project includes a complete reconstruction of the street with approximately 2 blocks of full width roadway reconstruction, with curb, gutter, and sidewalk with ADA street crossing ramps and driveway approaches. Storm drainage problems will be addressed with catch basins, waterways, and piping to alleviate flooding and roadway damage previously experienced. Utility infrastructure will be replaced and installed including fire hydrants, culinary and secondary water lines, and storm drain piping. The estimated total cost of this project is $1.25 million. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 7:00 pm at the Ballard City offices, 2381 East 1000 South, Ballard, Utah.
In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) during this meeting should notify Kaelyn Meyers, (435) 722-3393, at least three (3) working days prior to this meeting.
